Richard Fowler Opens New Raymond James Branch in South Cotswolds

Raymond James is to open a new branch for a former Charles Stanley wealth manager in the south Cotswolds.

The branch will be run by Richard Fowler (pictured), who previously headed Charles Stanley’s Cirencester office, which was merged into its Bath outpost in 2016. He spent seven years at the national wealth manager before leaving this summer.

Fowler is targeting private clients with his new venture, but said his portfolio also includes a number of charities and trusts.

While there is no minimum investment limit, he said sub-£100,000 clients will be invested entirely in collectives, with larger clients having their portfolios managed on a bespoke basis.

He told Wealth Manager: ‘I joined Raymond James to get back to doing what I enjoy most – having contact with clients and looking after investments. The Raymond James model offers me that freedom.’

Clients will be offered a choice of fee-only or a mixture of lower fee and dealing commission charges. He will be co-locating with another Raymond James manager, Peter Dunham, although the duo will operate two separate entities.

Fowler added: ‘I am a firm believer that when it comes to their money, people want to deal with someone who understands their individual financial goals. My partnership with Raymond James allows me to provide this as an alternative to the ‘model’ approach which the industry is increasingly focused around. I’m relishing the opportunity to have complete freedom to make my own decisions and build a successful new business.’
