Raymond James has appointed Peter Moores as CEO of its Canadian business, Raymond James Limited (RJL). Peter, currently CEO of Raymond James Investment Services (RJIS) in the UK, will relocate to Toronto later this year to lead the firm, subject to regulatory approval and immigration formalities. The move comes as Raymond James celebrates 25 years in Canada and recently surpassed C$100 billion in assets under administration. He will continue as CEO of RJIS until the end of April.

Since joining Raymond James in 2004, Peter has held diverse roles including CEO in the UK, providing leadership of the wealth management business and governance of the capital markets and investment banking businesses. Prior to Raymond James, he held progressively senior leadership roles in the institutional, asset management, and retail brokerage sectors at Chase Manhattan Bank, DAB Bank AG, and SELFtrade UK. Peter’s leadership experience also extends to various board of directors including Raymond James Financial International Limited and European investment banking and capital markets.

Peter’s appointment comes as Charles Stanley and RJIS progress with its integration, led by Kim Jenson, Group CEO, and follows the announcement that it will be formalised under one UK legal entity; Raymond James Wealth Management Limited, in early 2026.

Both brands – Charles Stanley and Raymond James – continue to operate in the market, with further integration proposals to be guided by client and wealth manager needs.

Raymond James Ltd.’s Chair of the Board, Paul Allison said:

“Peter’s experience and track record ideally position him to lead RJL’s strategy going forward.” He added: “with over 20 years of tenure in the firm, Peter also brings a genuine appreciation for the role RJL’s client-first values and culture will continue to play in our success.”
